Florence Shannon Fuller

Florence Nightingale Shannon, age 92, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024 at her home at Truewood Assisted Living in Keller, Tx. Florence was born in Beaumont, Tx.

She was married to Elbert Fuller on February 19, 1954. They lived in Beaumont, where their 2 daughters were born. Flo is survived by her daughters, Debi Fuller Isert and her husband Greg, Susie Fuller Griffin and her husband Guy, and her granddaughter, Shannon Griffin (the love of her life!)

Flo was the ultimate homemaker during the years while the girls were young. Sewing their clothes (including their doll clothes), sewing matching Halloween costumes, sewing their Church Christmas pageant costumes, as well as curtains and tablecloths for their home. She also loved cooking and baking and baked themed birthday cakes for the girl’s birthday parties.

The girl’s love of decorating came from their mother, who always set the most beautiful table, decorated themed Christmas trees and repurposed furniture for their home,

The Fuller family relocated to Dallas, Tx, where Flo and Elbert worked for Sun Oil Company. After their retirement, they bought an RV, and traveled the US, with their dog Sara. Flo enjoyed her love of fishing during those trips. They ultimately decided to move to Lake Mena, AR., which they enjoyed for many years, before moving to Trophy Club.

During this next chapter of life, Flo and Elbert got a new 4 legged companion, Corky, who became moms constant companion. And were blessed with their granddaughter Shannon, whom they spent many days with, before Shannon began school. Special, deep bonds of love were formed during these years, between Shannon and her grandmother. Flo also encouraged Shannon to embrace her Irish heritage.

Flo enjoyed many hobbies, such as painting, needlework, playing the Dulcimer, entertaining, researching her Irish heritage and numerous craft projects,

Flo’s faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ has always remained strong and steadfast during her life. She enjoyed reading her bible and noting special verses.

We will miss you and love you dearly mom -until we meet again!

A funeral for Florence will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034.

A reception will occur Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034.

A committal will occur Friday, December 6, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
