Floyd Edward "Pete" Lain of Bedford, Texas was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at the age of 91. Pete was born on December 2, 1932 in Peaster, Parker County, Texas to John Ivy and Cora Lain. Pete married the love of his life, Bobbie Jo Gray on December 2, 1950 in the old North Side Assembly of God Church. They shared 64 wonderful years of marriage until her passing on December 20, 2014. One of his fondest memories with Bobbie was the annual family vacation trips to Branson, Missouri. His biggest joy was spending time with his family. He also had a deep love for fishing, hunting, camping and the outdoors.
Pete worked for Tarrant County in the transportation department starting out as a chain man on a survey crew. He moved up thru the ranks as a rod man, to instrument man, eventually becoming Party Chief over the survey crews. He finished up as Precinct Coordinator Bridge and Road Inspector. He spent many long years overseeing the crews and the development of the Golden Triangle in Keller. We often joked if it should have been named the "Pete Lain Blvd". Pete retired from Tarrant County in 1994 after
43 years of service.
Everyone who knew him, knew he had a deep love for his Lord. He loved people and loved praying for them. He spend many years serving the Lord in his church and in his mission work around the world.
