Foy J. Shazer, 80, passed away Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at a local hospital. Service: 3 p.m. Wednesday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment: Foy will be laid to rest in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park with military honors. Visitation: Friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home's Cherry Drawing Room. Foy was born in Wise County on Sept. 4, 1934, to Doug Shazer and Mamie Hopkins Shazer. He served in the Marine Corps from 1951 through 1953 and received an honorable discharge. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna; and daughter, Melody. Survivors: Wife of 52 years, Jacquie; son, Gary and wife, Christina; beautiful granddaughters, Erika and Emilee; sister, Drucilla Martin; brother-in-law, James L. Stephens and wife, Betty; and numerous nieces, nephew and friends.
