Gerald Campbell, a devoted follower of Christ, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, entered into the presence of his Heavenly Father on Father’s Day, June 21, 2026, at the age of 91.
Gerald lived a life defined by faith, family, service, and perseverance. His love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of his life. He never missed an opportunity to share the Gospel and the hope he found in Jesus Christ. Whether speaking with lifelong friends or complete strangers, Gerald was always willing to share his faith and encourage others in their walk with God.
A faithful Baptist deacon, Gerald dedicated much of his life to serving his church and community. His servant’s heart and unwavering commitment to Christ left a lasting impact on countless lives.
Gerald was blessed to share 60 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Dolores Campbell. Together they built a home centered on faith, love, and devotion to family.
Professionally, Gerald enjoyed a successful 33-year career with Farmers Insurance before retiring. Retirement, however, never slowed him down. He pursued his passion for health and wellness by becoming a Certified Personal Trainer and later a Certified CPR Instructor, helping others improve their health and learn life-saving skills.
Gerald was a man of remarkable discipline and determination. At the age of 79, he set a world record at the WADBL World Bench Press Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2014, proving that age is no barrier to excellence. He was also a lifelong advocate of physical fitness and an avid runner who completed multiple marathons and 50-mile races, including the prestigious Boston Marathon.
Beyond athletics, Gerald found joy in many pursuits. He loved golf, softball, and spending time outdoors. He also possessed a deep appreciation for music and was honored to sing with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Choir. Whether on a golf course, running a race, lifting weights, singing in a choir, or sharing his faith, Gerald approached every endeavor with enthusiasm and gratitude.
Gerald is survived by his beloved wife, Dolores Campbell; his daughters, Dion VonBerg (Robert) and Pam Long; his sons, Mike Campbell (Paula), Chris Campbell (Donna), and Greg Campbell; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy and pride.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Norris; his father, James Crowder; his sister, Teresa Mackey; and his twin sister, Geraldine Mays.
Gerald’s legacy is one of unwavering faith, steadfast love, hard work, and service to others. He leaves behind a family strengthened by his example, friends inspired by his character, and a community blessed by his presence.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family rejoices in the promise that Gerald has been welcomed home by his Savior, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm on July 1, 2026, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034, with the graveside service to follow.
