As a proud member of the “Green Hornets,” Wayne served with honor and distinction during the Vietnam War, stationed at Cam Ranh Bay in the Republic of Vietnam. There, he played a vital role as a helicopter mechanic on the renowned Huey UH-1N helicopters, manned the helicopter doors during missions, and demonstrated extraordinary courage by rescuing and rendering aid to others, ensuring that no comrade was ever left behind.
On October 13, 1977, Wayne married the love of his life, Rosalind “Roz” Boule`. Together, they built a loving home in Arlington, Texas, where they raised their family and created lasting memories. Wayne’s clients often became lifelong friends, a testament to his personable nature and dedication to going above and beyond in every interaction.
Later, Wayne joined Roz in a second career in funeral and cemetery sales, where their combined compassion and exceptional interpersonal skills allowed them to provide comfort, guidance, and personalized support to grieving families. As family service counselors, Wayne at Bluebonnet Hills, and Roz at Laurel Land Fort Worth they made a lasting impact, earning the trust and gratitude of countless families during their most challenging times.
Immediately following Roz’s passing in 2000, Wayne carried her spirit forward in the love and care he devoted to their children and grandchildren. His work exemplified his dedication to excellence and his natural ability to connect with people, creating meaningful experiences even in this late stage of his career.
Later in life, Wayne was honored as a 100% Service-Connected Disabled Veteran due to his exposure to Agent Orange during the Vietnam War.
