Glenn Edward Johnson was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Glenn will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Roy and Bonnie Johnson.
Glenn was raised with five brothers, Earl, Bill, Ron, Don, Tommy and two sisters Joan and Linda. Glenn was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. They shared many life experiences over the years.
A typical teenager, Glenn had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from Perryton High School in 1947. He enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers.
Glenn enjoyed his college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but Glenn was able to manage the balancing act. He attended the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas at Arlington.
Empathic and loyal, Glenn was committed to making his new family happy.
Glenn worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Glenn was blessed with two sons, Randy and Kevin and one daughter, Jodi. Another blessing for Glenn was the gift of ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Megan, Guy, Hope, Amber, Megan, Megan, Morgan, Mackenzie, Hunter, Randy, Avery, Helen, Star, Henry, Reagan, Liam, and Kennedy.
Fortunately, Glenn enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Glenn worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. He worked as a U.S. Post Office letter carrier until 1955 in Perryton and left to pursue his career as a draftsman and continued his education at the University of Texas at Arlington until 1958. He was later an employee of Bell Helicopter Company of Fort Worth for 20 years, which opened doors for his move to Southwest Compressor of Fort Worth, where he served as president from January 1975 to April 1986 when the company sold. In 1988 he ventured with his wife as they purchased Texoma Grocery in Kingston, Okla. Glenn later continued to pursue his career as a draft engineer and was an employee of Oklahoma Wire and Steel in Madill, Oklahoma where he designed machines for their production plant. Glenn always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
