

Guinn Craft Largent was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Guinn will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Burgess and Ruth Largent.
Guinn was raised with one brother, James and one sister, Jane. Guinn was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
A typical teenager, Guinn had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers.
Guinn enjoyed his college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but Guinn was able to manage the balancing act. He continued his education at Decatur Baptist College and North Texas State College.
Empathic and loyal, Guinn was committed to making his new family happy.
Guinn worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Guinn was blessed with two daughters, Susan and Nell. Another blessing for Guinn was the gift of three grandchildren, Brian, Travis, and Zane.
He served in the Navy during World War II, and later joined the Army and the Army National Guard. He retired as a Colonel after 40 years of combined service. His fellow soldiers viewed him as a brother in arms and knew that he was as much a part of their family as their loved ones back home.
Guinn was a man who took pride in upholding his beliefs. So it is little wonder that he took an active role in his community, Craft was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 67 years and served as Past Worshipful Master at both Richland Hills Lodge #1348 and at Chico Lodge #508. He was also a Red Coat in the Fort Worth Scottish Rite and a member of the Moslah Shrine in Fort Worth.
Guinn’s faith was important to him. He was a very active member of the North Pointe Baptist Church in Hurst, Texas.
Guinn passed away on June 10, 2016 at Texas Health HEB Hospital in Bedford, Texas. Craft is preceded in death by his parents, Burgess and Ruth Largent; his brother James Largent; his daughter, Susan Largent; and grandson Brian Berry. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bonnie Largent; daughter and son-in-law Nell and Bill Berry; grandson Travis Berry; great-grandson Zane Berry; sister Jane Ramos; and many other extended family and friends. Services were held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Colleyville, Texas. Guinn was laid to rest in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
Simply stated, Guinn was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Guinn leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Guinn Craft Largent.
