

Harold Douglas Reed, a devoted husband, loving father, proud Marine, and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on March 13, 1931, in Fort Worth, Texas, Harold was the son of Paul Jefferson Reed and Fannie Kelly Reed. He lived a life marked by kindness, curiosity, and quiet strength.
Harold graduated from Poly High School in Fort Worth, Texas, before serving honorably in the United States Marine Corps, completing two years of service and exemplifying a lifelong commitment to duty and discipline. Following his military service, Harold built a long and dedicated career with Southwestern Bell, where he worked for 46 years.
His love of travel, shared with his late wife, Christine Reed, took him to many corners of the world, where he found joy in learning about different cultures and meeting new people. Harold was known for his participation in community events and his willingness to lend a hand wherever it was needed. Those who knew him will remember his meticulous organization, his thoughtful habit of writing everything down, and the care he put into all aspects of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Jefferson Reed and Fannie Kelly Reed; his wife, Christine Reed; his son, Ronny Douglas Reed; and his brother, Wendell Reed.
Harold is survived by his daughter, Linda Schorn, and son-in-law, Larry Schorn; his sister, Barbara Athens of Joshua, Texas; his grandchildren, Deborah Bray, Scott Schorn, Ashley Smith, Chris Reed, and Douglas Reed; and his great-grandchildren, Adalyn Smith, Landry Smith, Camryn Smith, Leighton Reed, and Landon Reed.
A private service will be held to honor Harold’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in his memory.
