Homer Phil Hine

Homer Phil Hine, 77 years old from Colleyville, Texas. Passed away on 11/19/2025. Phil was born in San Antonio, Tx on 12/6/1947 Homer Hine and Holly Harper Hine. Homer graduated from Sul Ross University with a Master of Chemistry and a Master of Mathematics. He married Jean on 8/29/1987.

Phil worked for 35 years at RSR Corporation, a leader in the collection and recycling batteries industry. Phil owns a patent for the process for recycling lead-acid batteries. When he retired at the age of 65, Phil had risen to the position of Vice President of RSR Corporation. Prior to his service at RSR, Phil taught high school math.

Phil is survived by his brother Glen and wife Judy, sister Donna and husband Dana, daughter Theresa Kline and husband Mike, daughter Jackie Shannon and husband Geoff, granddaughter Elizabeth Rosado with husband Devin and son Silas, and granddaughter Brittany Chandarlis and husband Eli. Phil’s beloved wife Jean preceded him in death on 10/10/2023.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday November 28, 2025, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park 5725 Colleyville Blvd. Colleyville, Tx 76034. Reception to follow.

Phil was a strong, steady presence in the lives of his family and friends. Phil was generous and caring to those he loved. Phil believed education was important and supported those endeavors in his children and grandchildren. When I (Jackie) was working on my bachelor’s and master’s degrees, I would not have passed statistics and research methods without Phil’s help. He was always available to solve problems and lend an ear when needed. It was due to Phil that mom (Jean) was able to travel to England to see her family, take vacations and Spring Break trips with me, Theresa, Elizabeth and Brittany. Phil always said it was important to “make memories” on those trips and in life. Here’s to all the wonderful memories we made with Phil! I’m sad at Phil’s death and happy he and mom are reunited. I picture him taking her hand as they dance to “Waltz Across Texas.”
