Jackie Lee Wilbanks, age 84, of Euless, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024. He was born in Pickton, Texas on July 9, 1939. Jackie graduated from Blue Ridge High School, where he met the love of his life, Betty Myrick. They were married on January 27, 1962.
Jackie served both in the National Guard and the Army Reserves from 1957-1963. He worked at General Motors for over 33 years. He was a member of Cross City Church, Euless.
Jackie is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty; his two sons, Jimmy and wife Michelle and Terry and wife Sheila; his four grandchildren: Jarrett, Kennedy, Austin, and Caelyn; one sister, Joyce Greenwood; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Cloe; brother L.C. Wilbanks, brother John Wilbanks, brother Cecil Wilbanks, sister Mildred Buster, sister Sylvia Holt, brother Paul Wilbanks, and sister Helen Montgomery.
Jackie’s love for his family was strong and demonstrated by the years he spent coaching his sons in various sports. He enjoyed traveling on numerous cruises and trips to Europe. From growing up on a farm, he enjoyed his garden, especially raising tomatoes. He often said he was blessed. He will be remembered for his deep Christian faith, sense of humor, and caring spirit.
A visitation for Jackie will be held Friday, April 5 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur on Saturday, April 6 at 10:00 am.
