

BEDFORD -- James Patrick Daley passed away on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014. Service: Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Bedford, with Father John as celebrant. Friends and family are encouraged to gather for the holy rosary, which will commence at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014 in the chapel of Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.
James was born to Michael and Frances Daley on July 8, 1940, in Detroit, Mich. He was a graduate of St. Gregory The Great Catholic School and joined the Army in 1958. At a young age James knew the importance of serving his country. Faith and family were at the core of his very being.
He celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary to Judith on June 13, 2014. Together they raised three children and had the opportunity to live in many different states due to his faithful employment to the Kmart Corporation. After 42 years, James retired. He then went on to spend the next 15 years of his life working at Texas Motor Speedway. James would grin from ear to ear when his friends from the speedway wished him many a happy birthday no matter the date. James enjoyed Winstar Casino, NASCAR and Las Vegas. He even named his beloved Pomeranians Nugget and Jackpot.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Frances Daley; brothers, Kenneth Lange, Marvin Daley; and sister, Joan Augustyn.
Survivors: Left to honor his memory, wife, Judith; sons, Ken and wife, Jennifer, Ron and wife, Melissa; daughter, Karen and husband, James Wills; and grandchildren, Eileen, Jacob, Connor, Sean and Katherine.
