

Jim was born on June 25, 1941, in Mayfield, Kentucky.
He went to Georgia Tech in Atlanta on an academic scholarship where he graduated with an Industrial Management degree. He met his wife Kay in Atlanta and they soon had two children Deborah and Jim, Jr. Jim, Sr. worked in upstate New York for Allegheny Ludlum Steel Company in human resources, at Arthur Young & Company in New York City and then in Chicago as an executive headhunter for Billington, Fox & Ellis.
Jim and his family moved to Texas in 1978 to open a Texas office for Billington, Fox & Ellis. Later, Jim and his wife were owners of two travel agencies (Cooper Travel and Green Oaks Travel). They also owned a bike store called Bike Lovers. Jim and Kay divorced in 2002 but remained close. Jim was a kind, fun, and friendly person. As anyone who knew him would say, Jim would talk to anyone. He loved everyone and looked only for the good in people.
Jim was a long-time member of the Rotary Club of Arlington and the Board of Directors of Dental Health of Arlington, which were both organizations which he loved and to which devoted much time. Jim was also a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Arlington which he faithfully attended.
Jim is survived by his brother Jerry Orr, his former wife Kay Orr, his daughter Deborah Jenkins and her husband Brian Jenkins (who lived across the street from the Orrs when they moved to Texas), as well as their two children Nicole Jenkins Williams and Brian Jenkins, Jr. Jim is also survived by his son James Craig Orr, Jr. and his wife Shelli Orr and their children Cassidy Orr, Jacob Orr and Elaina Orr. Jim Sr. had one great-grandchild – Emersen, who is the daughter of Nicole Jenkins Williams and Ryan Williams.
A memorial service for Jim will be held at 10:00 am on February 7, 2022, at Bluebonnet Hills at 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville Texas 76034.

A celebration of life for James will be held Monday, February 7, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville Blvd, Texas 76034.
