James N. Plato passed away on November 11, 2015. He was 67 years old. James, or “Jim” as he was lovingly known by many, was born and raised in Derby, Connecticut. He obtained a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Asian History from Wesleyan University in Connecticut. Jim had a stellar career in the life insurance industry. A career that began in Metropolitan Life blossomed into becoming a Senior Vice President while still in his early 30’s, the President and CEO of United Presidential Life Insurance Company, and grew to become CEO of Interstate Life and the Executive Vice President of Mutual of Omaha; a career that ended as the President and CEO of Chesapeake Life.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Jane Plato; his sons, Jason and Joshua Plato, their wives, and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Monday November 23, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at the Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Chapel. It will be followed by an escort, by the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders, to the Vacquero Golf Club for a Celebration of Life Reception.
