

Jan L. Cooper Wells was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Jan will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
She was the daughter of Marion and Mytris Askew. Jan grew up in Texarkana, Texas.
Jan was raised with three brothers and three sisters. Jan was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
A typical teenager, Jan had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Birdville High School in 1958. She enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers.
Empathic and loyal, Jan was committed to making her new family happy.
Jan worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Jan was blessed with two daughters, Kim and Lisa. Another blessing for Jan was the gift of two grandchildren, Micah and Mikayla.
Jan enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were spending time with family, sharing her artistic abilities and creativity. Jan also loved to cook and bake. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Jan passed away on March 4, 2016 in Hurst, Texas. She is survived by her husband, James Gregory Wells; daughter, Kim Birdsong and husband, Kevin; daughter, Lisa Cooper; Grandson, Micah and his wife, Laura and granddaughter, Mikayla; 3 brothers and 3 sisters and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Services were held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Colleyville, Texas. Jan was laid to rest in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
Simply stated, Jan was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Jan leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Jan L. Cooper Wells.

Mrs. Jan Cooper Wells passed away peacefully on March 4, 2016. She was 75 years of age. Service: Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 10:00a.m. at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 2p.m. to 5p.m. at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park Jan was born on January 10, 1941 to parents, Marion and Myrtis Askew in Old Boston, Texas. She was raised in the Texarkana area and was a 1958 graduate of Birdville High School. She moved to Fort Worth at the age of 15 and lived in Hurst until her passing. Jan loved to spend her time with family, sharing her artistic abilities and creativity. Her outgoing character and sense of humor always had her surrounded by friends, family and her beloved grandchildren, Micah and Mikayla. Jan’s kitchen was always full of love, often baking and cooking, and sharing great memories with her family. Beloved, wife, mother, grandmother and friend will be dearly missed by those blessed to have known her.
