Jane Elizabeth Simmons

Jane Elizabeth Simmons, 41, of Colleyville, Texas passed away on September 7, 2026, surrounded by loving family. She was born on November 19, 1984 in Irving, Texas, the daughter of Ross and Claudia Owen and sister of Amanda Clawson.

Jane was raised in Colleyville, Texas, and graduated from Colleyville Heritage High School in 2003, where she was Student Council President. She then attended Oklahoma Baptist University, earning her bachelor’s degree in communication in 2007 and Dallas Baptist University where she earned her master’s degree in elementary education in 2012.

Jane met her husband Andrew in 2006 at Pine Cove Christian Camps, where their friendship began. They married in 2012 in the chapel at Dallas Baptist and had two remarkable, loving, and kind children, Joanna and Ross. She answered her calling as a teacher and taught second grade for over 10 years at Heritage Elementary, the school she once attended herself. She was adored and cherished by her students, their families, and her co-workers, culminating in her being voted Teacher of the Year for 2025–2026.

Jane especially enjoyed creating fun adventures for her family, always seeking special opportunities to create memories together. She loved planning big celebrations for birthdays and holidays, especially Easter and Christmas. She found joy in bright colors, fun patterns, and inspiring stories. She delighted in God’s Word and had a collection of well-read and highlighted Bibles and devotionals.

Jane’s faith in Jesus was at the center of her life. In her own testimony, she wrote, “Knowing Jesus…there is no greater thing. It is His truth that has set me free. His abounding love keeps me inspired and His continuous hope keeps me going.”

Her family, friends, and community will always remember her for loving big and caring about the small things. She gave good gifts and spread joy to each person she met. She believed in the best version of every person she loved, and made them feel seen, cared for, and celebrated.

We are so grateful to God for letting us love and be loved by Jane. We will carry this love, joy, faith, and beautiful spirit with us always.

Visitation will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034, US, on September 11, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 121 Community Church, 2701 Ira E. Woods Ave, Grapevine, TX 76051, US, on September 12, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
