Janet Ivers Stutz passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024, at the age of 82, in Azle, Texas, due to natural causes. Up until the end, Janet maintained her kindness and smile. She loved all people and was interested in increasing the happiness and health of everyone around her.
She was born on May 27, 1942, to Lloyd B. and Nedra J. Ivers in San Diego, California. She was one of 7 siblings and grew up loving horses, rivers, lakes, and the mountains of Provo, Utah.
She married her childhood sweetheart Howard Kent Stutz on July 8, 1960, and they had six children: Lloyd (Lee Ann) Stutz, Annjanette Vandergriff, Shawna (William) Stewart, Matthew (Melissa) Stutz, Deborah (Chad) Lienemann, and Steven (Roxanne) Stutz.
Janet left a legacy of courage, determination, and grit as she endured the passing of her husband when she was just 44 years old. She was left to raise four of her six children on her own. With no steady source of income, she worked various jobs to support her family.
She had an infectious laugh, especially whenever fireworks, roller coasters, or boat rides were involved.
Janet lived in California, Utah, Hawaii, Illinois, Oregon, Washington, and Massachusetts before finding her way to Texas in 1978. She was very patriotic, supporting her husband as he served in active duty in the Navy. Her posterity has an annual tradition of gathering for Memorial Day to honor the fallen.
Janet loved her family more than anything in this world. Her greatest joy and biggest smiles were for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The only thing that could compete with her love for her family was her devotion to God and Jesus Christ. She served in various charitable capacities, held leadership positions caring for others, and continually extended her love to those in need.
Janet is survived by her six children, 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and six siblings: Judy, Michael, Joanne, Marilyn, Patricia, and Terry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Kent Stutz, and parents, Nedra and Lloyd Ivers.
At long last, she joins her beloved husband in eternity.
Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:15 on October 11, 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1010 Timber Oaks Dr., Azle, Texas 76020.
