Janice Hammeke passed away Monday, December 10 in Grapevine, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and friend.
She was born on September 26, 1938 in Saginaw, Texas to Odell and Bernice Locklin. She graduated from Diamond Hill High School and then from Brantley Draughon Business College. She worked at Federal Aviation from 1958 to 1970 and again from 1987 to 1996. Jan was able to complete her training for her pilot’s license in the early 1960s. She was a good painter and cook and was devoted to her family and friends.
Jan is survived by her son, Paul Hammeke, grandsons JD and Joe Hammeke, and daughter in law Margie, all in San Antonio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Odell and Bernice, first husband, John Jones II, their son, Johnny Jones III, and her husband Dennis Hammeke.
Visitation will be from 5 pm to 9 pm on December Friday the 14th with a rosary at 7 pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville. The funeral will be at 11 am on Saturday December 15th at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Keller. Internment will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville.
