

She was born in LaGrange, Georgia on May 26, 1936 but had lived in Texas for over 60 years.
Janice graduated from LaGrange High School and then after her children were born, she got her teaching degree from East Texas State University.
She was married to Tob Jones on June 14, 1958, but he preceded her in death in 2009. She was also preceded in death by her son, Mike Jones.
Ms. Jones was a 3rd and then later a 4th grade school teacher for Mt. Pleasant ISD for over 20 years and loved being with children. After retirement she served as a surrogate mother and grandmother to so many who called her Mimi.
She was a member of White’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake and was involved in her Sunday School class, The Wesley Class, and also loved many other church activities including Tuesday Morning Bible Study, Wonderful Wednesdays with Women, Classic Adults and so many Sunday brunches and celebrations. One of her fondest memories was traveling with many church members to Turkey and Greece in 2015 following the steps of Paul’s missionary journey. She also loved Mondays at Southlake Senior Center and dinners at The Conservatory in Keller.
Before moving to Keller in 2013, Janice resided in Mt. Pleasant, Texas and was an active member of Tennison Memorial United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed annual homecoming celebrations at Hillcrest United Methodist Church in LaGrange, Georgia.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law Cathy and Gabe Hendrickson and her grandchildren Samantha Irby, Catie Smith and husband Jonathan Smith, Crissy Hendrickson, Connor Hendrickson and fiancé Kate Jensen along with her sister and brother in law, Brenda and Pasco Tilson, and numerous nieces and nephews. She also had two great grandsons, Jaxson Irby and Wesley Smith who gave her infinite smiles and joy.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m., on February 18, 2022, at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Grace Chapel.
