Jeffrey Scott Vanderpool, born December 8, 1958 in Long Beach, California, passed away in his sleep on April 21, 2025 in Colleyville, Texas at the age of 66. Jeff is survived by his wife, Theresa Anne (Dixon) Vanderpool; his parents, Derald Eugene Vanderpool and Judi Ann (Kunkel) Possnack; son, Matthew Scott Vanderpool and wife Katelyn Kelly (Stiles) Vanderpool; son, Adam Robert Vanderpool and wife Veronica Sue (Ferries) Vanderpool; daughter, Alison Anne (Vanderpool) Walker and husband Graham Hayden Walker; brother, Douglas Brent Vanderpool; sister, Kimberly Joy Vanderpool; and his ten grandchildren, Delaney, Reese, Avery, Abigail, Alice, Sam, Nolan, Andy June, Bowen, and Teddy.
Jeff was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served a two-year full-time mission in Cordoba, Argentina from 1978 to 1980, and often said that his favorite post-mission church assignments were working with the youth and being the Bishop of a young single adult congregation. A proud engineering alumnus of the California State University, Fullerton class of ‘85, he moved his family from southern California to Colorado Springs, Colorado that same year to join a tech startup before it was cool.
In the fifteen years that followed, Jeff received 16 patents based on his work, collaborated with National Football League teams and professional sporting events, saw the company he co-founded grow to be traded on the New York Stock Exchange, and met with the President and Vice President of the United States. In 2001 he and his family relocated to Colleyville, Texas, where he ran multiple small businesses and gave large sums of time to his church and community.
He loved creating happy family memories at the lake, at the ballpark, and at Sunday night dinners. He also liked to race cars and “drive the fastest,” according to his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed, but his testimony of Jesus Christ, shared through his words and actions, leaves us with the knowledge that we will see him again.
A memorial service for Jeffrey will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 500 W. McDonwell School Rd., Colleyville, TX 76034.
