Born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota on January 10, 1926, the second of fourteen children to Theodore and Amelia Riewer.
Jerome is survived by Maxine V. Riewer, his loving wife of 70 years, their three daughters Sheila Riewer, Lorie Hill, and Lindy Pappas, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
He lived with great deliberation in his Catholic faith, in love for family and life, in dedication and devotion, and always with an adventurous spirit.
While working in the oil industry, Jerry with his family, spent almost 30 years living abroad in many countries and travelled extensively. Always seeking and savoring opportunities to fish in the beauty of Montana, the rivers of South America, the lakes of Minnesota and every stream or lake he could find all over the world.
He loved to golf and played his whole life, from a small municipal in a hometown, to St. Andrews and Gleneagles in Scotland, to courses in Singapore and the Far East. With his German ancestry, he especially loved Germany and Austria. A savored memory of his was driving the autobahn and taking in the beauty of the countryside, with a baguette, mustard, and cold cuts to share.
He will live in our hearts and memories forever. No longer with us, but never forgotten.
The visitation for Mr. Riewer will take place on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 2:00 to 3:00pm, with funeral service starting at 3:00pm. Interment Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
