Mrs. Jerry Huckabee

She will always be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and a great friend to all that knew and loved her.

She was born on February 8, 1939 in Olton, Texas to Annie Olene and Lloyd Lee Powers. Jerry grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico in a big family and moved to the DFW metroplex in her early 20s.

She married Glen "Huck" Huckabee in 1968, and had a wonderful long marriage until he passed in 2016. Jerry was a hard and dedicated worker in every position she had which was a bookkeeper for years, real estate and later working at SBA until she retired just a few years ago. In every position she had, she made many friends and made lasting impressions on everyone she came across.

Jerry loved to entertain themed parties, loved decorating for holidays and dressing for festive occasions. She was always looking for the perfect holiday wine glasses. She loved going and watching Nasar races, shopping, gaming in Oklahoma and Las Vegas, fishing in Rockport, doing puzzles at home and watching Judge Judy in the evening.

Jerry is survived by daughters Angie and Debra, son Steve, sisters Jolene and Karen, brother Billy, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, husband Glen and beloved Jack Russell Josie Belle. Jerry will greatly missed by everyone that knew her.

The visitation will be held from 9 – 10 o’clock a.m. on Monday November 9 with the service following at 10 a.m. Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at 1:15 at the DFW National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any animal rescue organization or any organization of your choice.
