

Jimmie Darral Jackson Sr. was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Jimmie will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of A.E. and Mary Jackson.
Jimmie was raised with two sisters, Shirley, Verna and one brother Richard. Jimmie was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
A typical teenager, Jimmie had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers.
Empathic and loyal, Jimmie was committed to making his new family happy.
Jimmie worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Jimmie was blessed with three sons, Jim, Steve, and Jason. Another blessing for Jimmie was the gift of eight grandchildren, Ryan, Mo, Loretta, Daniel, Gabriel, Ava, Madison, and Sadie.
Fortunately, Jimmie enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Jimmie worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. He was employed for 42 years by Bell Helicopter. Jimmie always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Jimmie was an U. S. Army Veteran. He served his country from 1961-1964. His fellow soldiers viewed him as a brother in arms and knew that he was as much a part of their family as their loved ones back home.
Jimmie enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were playing golf. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
Jimmie found pleasure in sports. Jimmie was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he had the chance to do so. Tops on his list were watching all sports.
Jimmie was a man who took pride in upholding his beliefs. So it is little wonder that he took an active role in his community, He was Post Commander of VFW Post 2544 for 25 years.
Jimmie passed away on June 10, 2016 at Baylor Healthcare center in Dallas, Texas. He is survived by beloved wife of 30 years Donna Jackson, children; Jim Jackson Jr., Steve Jackson and Jason Long, grandchildren; Ryan, Mo, Loretta, Daniel, Gabriel, Ava and Madison, 1 great-grandchild Sadie, siblings; Shirley Piske, Verna Hamm and Richard (Helen) Jackson. Services were held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Colleyville, Texas. Jimmie was laid to rest in the Garden of Serenity in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
Simply stated, Jimmie was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Jimmie leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Jimmie Darral Jackson Sr.

Graduate of Diamond Hill-Jarvis, and served as president of the ex-student association 2016. Jimmie served in the U.S. Army, from 61-64. He was Post Commander of VFW Post 2544 for 25yrs.
