Jimmy Ann Hagar Thompson of Grapevine, Texas, passed away on April 23, 2023 in her home. She fought a lifelong struggle with juvenile diabetes and its complications. She was the wife of Todd Thompson for nearly 46 years and was the proud mother of Avery (Carol) Hagar Thompson of Oklahoma City.
She was born in Pecos, Texas (Reeves County) on December 11, 1955, where she lived until 1974, when she graduated from high school and went to college at Howard Payne University, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a teaching certificate in English.
Jimmy Ann is survived by sisters Donna Loy Sanders of Midland, and Martha Sue (Suzy) Hagar (Marty) of Dallas. She had many nephews and nieces, along with their children.
Her father and mother, James and Kathryn Hagar preceded her in death, as did her grandparents, John and Loy Hagar, Dutch and Donnie Cowley.
Jimmy Ann graduated from Pecos High School (1974) and Howard Payne University (1978). She was a public school teacher for 32 years, especially enjoying her students and friends at Heritage Middle School in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD.
She will be remembered, most of all, for her endearing smile and genuine kindness that were an inspiration to all who came to know her. She was selfless, generous with her time and attention to others, and she loved unconditionally.
The family would be honored if you consider making a donation in her memory, to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) at JDRF.org
