Mrs. Joan Elizabeth Powell

Joan was born on July 7, 1927 in Bentonville, Arkansas to George and Ila Oxford. The family moved to St. Joseph, MO when she was a young girl. She graduated from Benton High School in 1945 where she was queen of her senior year. During her high school years, she met and married her husband, Donald Powell. They raised 6 children together.

Joan loved people and never met a stranger. She was a successful Realtor for Remax Realty until they moved to Arlington TX where she took up other successful ventures.

Joan lived her life to the fullest making many friends along the way. She will be sadly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, Donald, of 55 years, her daughter, Cathy Everett, and son, Brian Powell. Survivors are daughters, Angela Cox and Michele Landivar and sons, Bradley Powell and Mitchell Powell. She also has many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, October 2nd for immediate family, only. No visitation will be held. Due to visitation restrictions, live stream will be available on Bluebonnet Hills Facebook page for friends and family members unable to attend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
