

John Alan Grable was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, John will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Jack Irwin Grable and Jean Beard Grable. John grew up in West Monroe, Louisiana.
John was raised with one brother, Jay and one sister, Jan. John was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings.
John enjoyed his college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but John was able to manage the balancing act. He attended Baylor University.
Empathic and loyal, John was committed to making his new family happy.
John worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. John was blessed with three daughters, Sarah, Katherine, and Krista. Another blessing for John was the gift of seven grandchildren, Lillian, Evie, Jackson, Aidan, Patrick, Collin, and Robyn.
Fortunately, John enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, John worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. John provided a glowing example of how to live life through a commitment to professional and personal excellence. John was honored to work with his church family at First Dallas. He previously worked with many other ministries, including the ACTS Network, Prestonwood Baptist Church and the International Mission Board. He also worked with The Richards Group prior to joining First Dallas.
John’s faith was important to him. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas
John passed away on May 11, 2016 in Grapevine, Texas. In addition to his beloved wife, John is survived by his three daughters: Sarah Powell (Chris), Katherine Grable, and Krista Robicheaux (Todd), and seven grandchildren: Lillian Grace, Evie Alice, Jackson Thomas, Aidan Jacob, Patrick Scott, Collin-Rhys and Robyn Elisabeth. Also surviving are his mother, Jean Grable Lee (Max), brother Jay Grable (Terry), sister Jan Mercer (Michael), niece Emily Wheat (Joseph), and nephew Taylor Holton. Services were held at the First Baptist Church of Dallas in Dallas, Texas. John was laid to rest in Blubeonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.

The choice is to live every day in dedication and devotion to the people and passions you love. John Alan Grable, 58, (Grapevine, Texas) did just that. He lived the life of a man without much time. He spent 23 years with his greatest collaborator and love of his life, Kim. His mission on this planet was to encourage and motivate and create beautiful work in service of the Lord. Through them he leaves a legacy of great potential. John was born July 30, 1957, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to the late Jack Irwin Grable and Jean (Beard) Grable. He grew up with his younger siblings, Jay and Jan, in West Monroe, Louisiana, before attending Baylor University. John provided a glowing example of how to live life through a commitment to professional and personal excellence. John was honored to work with his church family at First Dallas. He previously worked with many other ministries, including the ACTS Network, Prestonwood Baptist Church and the International Mission Board. Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Dallas on Tuesday May 17 at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior.
