He is also preceded in death by his daughter Christine Dawson and great grandchildren Harper Brown and Troy Brown.
John's distinguished career as an aviator took him all over the world and created treasured friendships that he held dear to his heart. He retired from his career in aviation as a Senior Flight Instructor in the GVI and GV Program. With his heart in aviation he was proud that his son Eric and now grandson Christopher were continuing the Holland name in aviation as making 3 generations of pilots.
In John's spare time he was always a Mr.Fix-It/ Builder, but his true passion was as an artist. He loved ( and was very good at it) painting and sketching. Some of his works hang in some of the facilities he lived in later in his life. John was a hard worker all of his life and made sure his family was taken care of, if there ever was a need he was the first one there. John also loved a good meal and fine dining as long as there was a ketchup bottle close by, lol. He was a true character and never met a stranger, He will be sorely missed.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Brown, Jordan Mersberger, Andrew Dawson, Christopher Holland, Jonathan Holland and Chance Owens.
Visitation/Services will be June 2, 2026 at Bluebonnet Funeral Home Colleyville,Texas, from 11:30-1:30 with funeral at 1:30 followed by burial in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
