Joe is survived by his sister, Audrey Robinson, of Bossier City, LA, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hazel, his brother, Jimmy Jordan, and his sister, Sue Thompson.
Joe grew up in Shreveport, LA, before serving honorably in the Marines. He fought in WWII and was severely wounded in battle. Later, he worked as an accountant in Shreveport for many years before moving to Euless, TX.
Even though communication was often difficult due to his war injuries, Joe's love for all his family was always clearly evident; he was fondly known as "Bubba" by his sisters and "Uncle Bubba" by his nieces and nephews. He loved the Lord, and for many years he was a strong supporter of the Billy Graham Crusades. He will also be remembered for his avid love of the Texas Rangers baseball team.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 10th at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville, TX at 12:30 p.m. If you wish to send floral condolences you may call Dr. Delphinium Designs and Events, 214-525-1284.
A special thank you to the caregivers at Park View Care Center in Fort Worth, who became his family during the last years of his life.
"Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal." Rest in Peace, Uncle Bubba.
