She was born in Vega, Texas located in Oldham County on March 4, 1932. Joyce graduated from Vega High School and received a Bachelors in Home Economics from West Texas State College. She was married to Bob R. Barnard on December 19, 1953.
Joyce worked with Bob in founding National Door Industries manufacturing products for the garage door industry as well as other real estate and ranching industries. She had a passion for sewing, painting, knitting, beading and many other handcrafts and art skills.
She was preceded in death by son, Ken in 2008 and husband, Bob in 2010; parents, Smokey and Alberteen Roark, sister, Earleen and brother, Bud Roark. She is survived by her sons, Mike and Britt; grandchildren, Kelly, Crysta, Kendra, Katilyn, Kylee, Matthew, Paige, Rachel, Casey and Clay; 17 great-grandchildren; one great great granddaughter and brother, Lee Roark of Houston, TX.
Visitation for Joyce will be on Friday, July 2nd from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Funeral services will be the following day at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home beginning at 2:30pm.
