Joyce L Emanuel

Joyce, of Bedford, Texas, passed away on June 29, 2024 at the age of 93. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and friend to all who knew her. She was born on August 25, 1930 in Merkel, TX to Clyde and Pearl Irvin.

She went to school and graduated from Merkel High School. She retired as an administrator at DFW hotels for which she worked many years. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing piano in church. Joyce loved Elvis, George Strait, and watching the Texas Rangers play baseball.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Her father, Clyde, was a farmer and her mother, Pearl, was a teacher. She lost her mom due to an illness when she was very young. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ted Emanuel, her sister, Dorothy Truitt, a daughter, Linda Orr, a son, Larry Purser, a daughter-in-law, Tina Purser, and two grandsons, Lane Purser and Kenneth Orr.

She is survived by children, Lana and Mike Abseck of Bridgeport, TX; Lyndell Purser of Euless, TX; Debbie and Greg Stevenson of Graham, WA; Barbara and Darren Dickinson of Euless, TX and Janet Crenshaw of Fort Worth, TX and 15 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 1pm followed by a funeral service at 2pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home 5725 Colleyville Blvd; Colleyville, Texas. Interment will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
