

Julia was raised and graduated from State Orphans Home in Corsicana, TX. There she met and fell in love with William “Evann” Cornwell. Upon his return from World War II in 1945 they wed. During the course of their marriage, they had two beautiful daughters. Julia was a very proud military wife and mother who traveled the world. They were happily married until his death in 1974. After his death, Julia returned to school to obtain her nursing degree and worked in the medical field for many years.
Mimi was the glue that held our family together and provided love and guidance to all. She never missed an opportunity for fellowship with loved ones. Mimi’s beautiful smile and infectious laugh will always be cherished and most certainly never forgotten.

Julia E. Cornwell (Mimi) of North Richland Hills, TX passed from this world peacefully on May 7, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
She will always be lovingly remembered as Mimi by all who knew and loved her.
She was born July 8, 1922 in Purdon, Texas to Johnnie Leona Taylor and William Henry Tickle.

Mimi was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and William Tickle, her husband, Evann Cornwell, her siblings: Dean Tickle, Ila McElwrath, Henry Tickle, and Nell Fuller, her grandson, Donald Thomason, son in law, James Dieffenwierth.
Mimi is survived by daughters Janis Parks (Bill) and Vicki Dieffenwierth, grandchildren DeeDra Parks, Douglas Parks (Hillarie), and Kelli Clark (Tony) and great grandchildren, Zachary Parks, Halee Thomason, Mackenzie Clark, Cameron Clark, Addison Clark, Evan Clark, Reagan Parks and Rhett Parks and numerous nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Wednesday May 13, 2020 at the Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, Colleyville, TX. The funeral service will be at 1pm on Thursday May 14, 2020 at Birdville Church of Christ, 3208 Carson Street Haltom City, TX. Due to current CDC guidelines a private interment will follow.
