Karin Rose Campbell

Karin Rose Campbell, age 69, was called home to her Lord and Savior on August 1, 2026, in Grapevine, Texas. She was born on October 29, 1956, in Akron, Ohio, to Paul and Marilyn Chuha.

Karin was raised in Akron, Ohio, where she graduated from Manchester High School in 1975 and earned her nursing degree from The University of Akron School of Nursing in 1978. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University in 2015.

She spent many years living in Richardson, Texas, raising her two beautiful daughters, Erin and Lauren, which she loved dearly. She married Rick Campbell in 2003, and they built a wonderful life together in Colleyville, Texas. Karin spent forty-plus years working as a registered nurse and spent the last 25 years of her nursing career working in the Intensive Care Unit at Baylor Scott and White Hospital. Nursing was not just her profession; it was her passion and calling.

Karin enjoyed cooking, baking, planting flowers, and tending to her precious lemon tree. She loved thrifting, cool weather, and spending time with her daughters, Erin and Lauren, her three beloved chihuahuas, Ellie, Cassie, and Joey, as well as her granddogs, Stella and Mckenzie. One of her favorite things to do was to visit her sister, Sue, in Ohio. Their special place to go was the Water Lily, a beautiful cabin in Amish Country, where they spent hours watching court trials, relaxing in the hot tub, and sitting by the fire.

Her biggest passion in life was to help others. Karin was her patients' fiercest advocate. She was proud to be a nurse and treated her patients like family with the utmost care and dignity. She was one-of-a-kind and a true gem of her profession.

Aside from her many years of compassionate care for her patients, she also had an undoubtedly fierce compassion and love for animals. She helped create and was the board president for the rescue, Angie's Friends, for her dear friend Angie, who devoted her life to feeding, watering, and rescuing countless dogs in need. She was a true advocate for those that could not speak for themselves.

If you had the pleasure of knowing Karin, then you were truly blessed. Karin was one of the kindest, caring, loving, most sincere people you could ever know. She treated others with true compassion and warmth and will be remembered for the happiness she brought into the lives of everyone she knew. She had a true heart of gold, and her legacy of kindness will live on in all of us who were lucky enough to have been in her life. She made sure people knew they mattered, were valued, heard, and appreciated. Her capacity to care knew no bounds, and her gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and boundless love will remain in our hearts forever. Her life was one to celebrate, and she will be deeply missed by so many. Karin loved and trusted in the Lord and knew she would spend eternity with him.

Karin was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Marilyn Chuha; mother- and father-in-law, Gerald and Joan Campbell; very much-loved Aunt Cathryn; and dear childhood friend, Kim Hanna.

She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Rick Campbell; daughters, Erin and Lauren Flake; sisters, Sue (husband Dan) Mayberry and Diane Cannon; nephews, Brian (wife Jenn) Menefee, Kevin Menefee, and Jake Cannon; chosen bonus daughter, Kelly Deboer; her three beloved dogs, Ellie, Cassie, and Joey; as well as many friends that she loved dearly.
