Kathy was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 15, 1950, to Beverly Joy and Raymond Michael Borst. Being in a military family she lived as a child on military bases along the east coast. As an adult, she moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where she met her beloved husband, John Hargis. Upon their move to Euless, Texas, both being quite the entrepreneurs, they purchased a children’s knitting company called Julius Berger. Kathy and John put their heart into everything they did, thereby; making Julius Berger a big success which they owned for 45 years.
Kathy was known for her kindness, generosity, and her sense of humor. She was up and ready for any challenge that came her way. She was a loving wife to her soulmate and husband John Hargis, a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and always a faithful friend.
Kathy will always be remembered as being a faithful servant of the Lord. She was an active member of St. Patrick’s Alter Society in Fort Worth, Texas. In later years, John and Kathy moved to St. Mary the Virgin in Arlington, Texas, where they became faithful and much-loved parishioners. Kathy was known by many as the Angel of Prayers and few days passed in her life that she was not praying the Rosary for family and friends both living and deceased.
Kathy is survived by her children Jennifer King and husband Morgan King, Kristina Kane and husband Patrick Kane, John A. Hargis Jr. and wife Carolyn Hargis, her grandchildren Emily Kathryn King, Lauren Elizabeth Kane, Lindsey Rose Kane, and Cyndi Jo Fowler, her sister-in-law Helen Rosalie Hargis (Lyn) and long-time family friend Dorothy Anita Buhler (Dita).
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Beverly Joy Brumble and Raymond Michael Borst, her beloved husband John Alvin Hargis, her sister Diane Minnie Hood and grandsons Joshua and Justin King.
