

Keith was born on November 8, 1956 in Hackensack, New Jersey. He was the son of Aage and Aase Johannessen. Keith was raised in New City, New York where he excelled as a student and athlete.
Keith was raised with four sisters. Keith was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his sisters. He and his sisters shared many life experiences over the years.
Keith enjoyed his college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but Keith was able to manage the balancing act. He graduated in 1978 from Nyack College.
Shortly after graduation, he met his wife Carol Joyce Grogaard and married her on December 30, 1978.
Keith worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Keith was blessed with two sons, Jeff and Jason and one daughter, Jennifer. Another blessing for Keith was the gift of seven grandchildren.
Fortunately, Keith enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Keith worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. Keith has worked for several companies in the senior housing industry for 38 years. He started his career with Life Care Services (Columbus, Ohio) and finished his career with Capital Senior Living (Dallas, Texas) where he was the President and Chief operating Officer as well as a board member.
Keith Norman Johannessen passed away peacefully on December 20, 2016 in Bedford, Texas. He fought a courageous battle with multiple myeloma/plasma cell leukemia for 3 years until he was finally healed in heaven by his Lord and Savior.
Surviving him are his wife Carol; his three children Jeff, Jennifer, and Jason their spouses and seven grandchildren; his mother, Aase from Ephrata, PA; four sisters their spouses and children; and many friends and extended family.
Services were held at First Baptist Church in Colleyville, Texas. Keith was laid to rest in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
Keith was an individual who will be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Keith leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Keith Norman Johannessen. Keith was an inspiration to everyone who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, honesty, integrity, and perfection in all he did.

Memorial service will be at 11 am Thursday, December 29, 2016 at First Baptist Church- Colleyville, with burial following at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Wednesday December 28,2016 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral home in Colleyville.
