Kristy Marie Turnbow, aged 59, passed away peacefully on March 31st, 2018 in Arlington, Texas, after a tough fight with breast cancer. Kristy’s service will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 at 10am.
Kristy was born on May 25th, 1958 in Los Angeles, California. She moved to Texas at a young age, graduated from high school at Lawrence D. Bell High School and achieved her bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Kristy thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and beloved animals. Kristy was well known for being a kind-hearted person who touched many peoples heart. She devoted her life to be an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Kristy sought enjoyment from taking care of others in need, including rescuing animals.
Kristy is survived by her three children, two stepchildren and seven grandchildren. Trevor Chase Turnbow, Preston Blake Turnbow and his wife, Hillary Turnbow and their two children, Shayla Turnbow Dunlap and her husband, Joshua Brandon Dunlap. Also her two stepchildren, Kalena Turnbow Taylor and Farah Dawn Kubin and her five children. She is also survived by her brother, Todd Lee Porter and his wife Amy Addy Porter and their daughter Claire Porter; and a number of other relatives and close friends.
Kristy is preceded in death by James Maurice Porter, Betty Jo Kalista and Clifford Kalista.
There will be a private graveside service for immediate family members at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to Moncrief Cancer Institute in Fort Worth Texas to help uninsured/underserved women receive free mammograms.
