Kyle Robert Lee, of Euless, TX, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018 at his home. He was born on March 12, 1959 under the name of Robert G. Lee in Fort Worth, TX to Maxie M. (D) and Barbara S. Lee. The family would later settle in Denver when he was six (6) years old where he was raised before moving back to Texas with his wife in 2012. He received his formal education in the Denver Public Schools and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. In 1982 he married Tamela, and together they had 3 children Taja, Kyle (D) and Blaine. Robert later changed his name to Kyle Lee to honor his deceased son. His wife still affectionately called him Robert. Kyle was self-employed and an entrepreneur. He had eight passions in life: Family, his business, art, cooking, traveling, gardening, music, and sports.
Kyle was a family man. His home in Denver as well as Texas was the focal point of all family gatherings from Christmas, Easter, 4th of July or really any occasion. He would get excited any time they were hosting family and friends’ gatherings. The food was ready to go, the recording camera was on, and then there were the games. Oh yes, every family and friends gathering included, of course, monopoly, dominoes, spades, and later poker. He was extremely competitive. Losing was not an option. He would talk so much “stuff” if he was losing or winning but all in good fun.
He was passionate about his business, KRL Carpentry, specializing in residential renovations, new construction, and commercial remodeling. He received his Real Estate Brokers License from the University of Colorado Continuing Education course.
He also attended the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver. Kyle’s love of art was also his hobby. He had an eye for beauty and enjoyed painting no matter what house he lived in, he gave it his own special touch whether painting a vine, tile work or just helping with the decorating. He created many water color portraits of family and friends, built model cars, airplanes, and helicopters which he loved to entertain with his children and nephews having them remote control the cars or airplanes until they ran the car or plane into a tree. Then they just had to watch him enjoy himself.
He loved cooking for friends and family whether it was making homemade pasta, barbequing, desserts or homemade bread. Grilling was his favorite. Rain nor snow ever stopped him. The bookshelves and pantry were filled with cookbooks from his favorite chefs. His wife learned early in the marriage he was picky about his food, ingredients, and food presentation. So, she willingly left the cooking to him and joined in occasionally but mainly to wash the many pots and pans he used. Kyle could go to a restaurant and taste food and duplicate the dish from scratch. He and his wife watched cooking channels regularly. Of course, in addition to eating, they frequented many fine restaurants in Denver and Texas. He loved exquisite food. Also, if you could not cook, he was not ashamed, nor did he hesitate to tell you. His wife would restrain him on many occasions.
Kyle loved traveling with his wife and family and exploring the country or world by sea, plane, or car. It wasn’t uncommon for Kyle to spontaneously plan trips for his wife or family.
Gardening is what made him most relaxed. He was like a landscape architect envisioning what he wanted and where. He looked forward to planting especially in Texas where the seasons were more predictable and longer. However, he planted an entire zero scrape lawn in Denver. In Texas he did all the landscape and was most proud when he and his wife received the coveted “Yard of
Month” from the HOA.
His other passions were music and sports. He loved every type of music, but jazz was his favorite and when it came to sports the Broncos were his team. He attended many home games and living in Texas did not stop him.
Kyle loved life and enjoyed having fun. He was often the life of the party. He will be missed immensely. Kyle is preceded in death by his father and son. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Tamela Lee of Euless, TX; his children Taja V. Lee of Arlington, TX; and Blaine J Lee of Denver, CO; his grandchildren Tamera M. Lee and Taylor A. Howard of Arlington, TX; his mother Barbara S. Jordan of Cedar Hill, TX; his siblings Michael G. Lee of Mesquite, TX; Charles G. Lee (Renee) of Houston, TX; and Mary Louise Lee-Hancock (Michael) of Denver, CO; Sisters-n-law Adriane D. Sanford of Aurora, CO; Angela G. Gibson (Michael) of Denver, CO; special friends Roy and Lizz Gonzalez and host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his dog Boudreaux barks me too!
