Fran lived a life centered around caring for others. She graduated from Fort Sumner High School in 1961 and later followed her calling to become a registered nurse in 1986. She spent many years working in the Coronary Care Unit, where her kindness and compassion touched countless lives. Even after retiring to Brownwood, Texas, to be closer to family, Fran’s desire to help never slowed down—she went on to earn her EMT certification and proudly volunteered with the local fire department.
More than anything, Fran loved her family. She treasured every moment with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether she was sewing something special, sharing stories, or gathering with her Bible study group, she created a life filled with warmth, faith, and connection. Her home and heart were always open.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Nellie Kenyon; her siblings, Louise Roberts and Lawrence Kenyon; and her beloved grandchildren, Derek Smith and Alyssa Smith.
Fran is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, James Silva Sr.; her daughter, Marian Silva Kauffman; her son, James Silva Jr. and his wife, Lisa; her sisters, Shirley Bryant and Laverne Stephens; her brothers, Leonard Kenyon and David Kenyon; her grandchildren, Amber Townsend and husband Casey, Austin Silva, Trey Silva and wife Abby, Ryan Silva and his wife Alyssa, Torrey Silva, Cameron Silva and his wife Autumn, and Brittany Silva; her great-grandchildren, Michaela Townsend, Cason Townsend, Alice Silva, Landon Silva, Zoey Silva, Liam Silva, Miles Silva, Hayden Silva, Jaxon Silva, Carson Silva, and Bradlee Silva; along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
A visitation will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 5, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Colleyville on Wednesday, May 6, at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Fran asked that donations be made to Careity.org in support of the Cancer Center and the care they provide.
Fran will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her servant’s heart, and the love she gave so freely to everyone around her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and family that will continue to live on in all who knew her.
