

He was born on March 28, 1942 in Granville, Iowa to Emily Mae & Leo W. Ahlers. Larry enlisted into the Navy, May of 1962 thru July 1966. He was an electronic technician, this is where he learned his Aeronautical trade. He also attended University of Texas at Arlington. Larry worked in the Aerospace Industry his entire adult career. He went on to start Ahlers Aerospace in December 1997.
Larry was a lifetime member of the Colleyville Lions Club.
Larry was a brilliant engineer and could design and build anything. He was the most generous, kind, fun loving, adventurous man and was always busy with numerous projects at the office and at home.

Larry John Ahlers, of Colleyville, Texas, passed away on November 6, 2020 in Grapevine, Texas. He will always be remembered as a loving Husband, father, Grandfather, friend, mentor and colleague to all that knew and loved him.

Larry is survived by his wife Linda Ahlers, son Doug Ahlers, daughter-in-law Sabrina Ahlers, step daughter Dawn Needham and his grandchildren: Douglas John Ahlers II, Blake Pope and Aidan Ahlers, brothers: Dan Ahlers of Keller, Texas, Darrell Ahlers of Laurens, Iowa, Mike Ahlers of Indianola, Iowa, Bob Ahlers of Laurens, Iowa and sisters: Betty Martin of Indianola, Iowa, Joyce Connolly of Johns Creek, Georgia, Janice Ahlers Williams of Stuart, Fl. He had many loved nieces and nephews. Larry loved all his employees and consider each one of them family. Larry had many friends and he valued them all. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Emily and Leo Ahlers of Laurens, Iowa and his brother Ron Ahlers of Jefferson City, Missouri.
The visitation will be held from 4:30-6:30 on Wednesday 11/11/2020 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. A viewing will be held Thursday 11/12/2020 11:30-12:30 The Graveside Service will be held at 12:30 on 11/12/2020 at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
