

Norville Lewis Riggan, Sr., 92 years old. “Lew” as he was known to friends and family, was the only child to Nathan and Clarice Riggan, of Big Spring, Texas. He spent his childhood growing up on a cotton farm in Stanton, Texas. He attended Texas A&M and was a member of the Core of Cadets. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. Lew joined and served 10 years in the Air Force as well as many years in the reserves. He retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was awarded two Distinguished Flying Cross medals and received two Air Medals.
Lew was also employed by American Airlines and flew as a Captain for many years until his retirement. Joining Amway in 1968, he reached the level of Double Diamond Direct. He set records still standing today, for reaching Diamond Direct level faster than anyone else. He spoke to and trained 100,000 people while traveling to 65 countries. Lew also drove for Uber for numerous years, even up to a few months before his passing. He was proud of providing 40,000 rides.
His hobbies were many, from collecting cars, coins, stamps, playing 42, Risk and Uno. Racing in such races as the Great American Race and racing legend cars. In the twilight years of his life, he enjoyed Christian group meetings and socializing with his Christian friends. Family was the utmost to him. Always stressing how, after all is said and done, it is family that always counts.
He leaves behind a legacy of 5 children: Lew Riggan, Jr., Linda Bailey, Larry Riggan, Nicole Shelton, and Laura Craig; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents: Nathan L. and Clarice L. Riggan; his son-in-law, Bill Bailey; and his grandson, Nathan L. Riggan.
His life continues to be celebrated through shared stories and traditions.
