Lucille Gates Tabor, 98, departed this life Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to the American Diabetes Association of America. Lucille was a lifelong resident of the Dallas area. She retired from Mobil Oil Corp. in 1977, where she was a legal secretary in the office of Patent Council. She was among the first 100 members of Tyler Street United Methodist Church. After retirement she traveled extensively. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Lucille had a quick wit and great sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Courtney. Survivors: Son, David and his wife, Shirley; grandchilden, Craig and wife, Rae, Colleen, Suzanne, Brian and wife, Rebecca, Robert, Eric and Katherine; and great-grandchildren, Lauren, Megan, Abigail and MacKenna.
