

Luis Daniel Becerra Espinosa was born on June 26, 1947 in Mexico City, Mexico and passed away on February 22, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 73. Luis proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. During that time, he met the love of his life, Elaine Espinosa, and were married in Thu Duc, Vietnam.
Luis and Elaine left Vietnam in 1974 to begin a family life in California. He began working for Bell Helicopter and was transferred to Iran in 1975, where they lived for four and a half years. It was in 1978 in Isfahan that Luis opened their first Mexican restaurant called Little Mexico. He returned to Texas in 1979, resigned from Bell Helicopter, and opened their second restaurant called Tequila Sunrise in Fort Worth. For 28 years, they successfully operated a total of five restaurants consecutively and chose to finally close the doors in 2006.
Luis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elaine Espinosa, and three children: Edward Espinosa and wife Ha Espinosa, Robert Espinosa and wife Debbie Espinosa, and Maria Vogel and husband Jeff Vogel; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Fernando Espinosa and Roberto Espinosa. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rodolfo and Beatriz Espinosa, and his sister, Teresa Limon.
Luis never knew a stranger and will always be remembered as a loving husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend to everyone who knew and loved him.
Vigil for Luis will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 4:30pm-6:30pm at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Home, 523 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas 76051.
Funeral Mass for Luis will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 10:00am at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3713 East Harwood Road, Bedford, Texas 76021 and will be accompanied with a livestream video for those who wish to attend virtually.
Burial will follow at 11:30am at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Boulevard, Colleyville, Texas 76034.
