

Lydia, 93, passed away after a sudden decline in her health on October 22nd 2025.
The love of her life and beloved husband Clarence Hopson Jr of 50 years, who she met in 1955 while he was stationed in Kaiserslautern Germany with the United States Military. Their wedding day was selected to be very special and meaning fun as July 4th 1957. In 1962 Clarence deployment in Germany was completed and he was called back to the US.
Lydia was preceded in death by joining the lord and waiting at heaven's door by both her parents, husband Clarence and daughter Ute.
She is survived by her daughter Sonja Hopson, sons Norman Hopson and Thomas Woods, brother Günther Amrhein and wife Esperanza.
Grandchildren Clement Chea and wife Erica, Christopher Wood’s and wife Michele, Robert Woods, Michele Hopson, Ayleen Hopson and husband Paul, Dylan Hopson and wife Hannah, Julian Hopson and Logan.
Great grandchildren Jeremiah, Cali, Oaklynn and Enola.
Lydia lived her life the best she knew and left this earth wishing for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to find security, protection and happiness in this world of uncertainty.
She was known for her strong will and unwavering determination. While growing up during WWII and living the constant threat of danger in war zones it thought her to become strong to deal with life’s challenges.
Up until her last day Lydia maintained her kindness, grace, compassion, appreciation of beauty, love of family and friends and expressed gratitude for her long life full of wonderful and varied experiences.
Lydia was a gem of a person who appreciated all that life gave her, until she was ready to walk through heavens door. Even in her diminished state near the end of her life, she made new friends in her assisted living facility, where she was a helping friend to fellow residents.
Lydia was grateful to have lived her 93 years of life with full of experience alongside her loving and caring family, many good friends and compassionate caregivers.
While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing Lydia is no longer in pain. We are thankful for the love she shared and cherish all the memories we made. Her legacy will carry on forever through the lessons she taught us and reminding us that we control our attitudes'. We choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love, kindness and service, like Christ modeled for us.
A memorial service for Lydia will be held Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 COLLEYVILLE BLVD, COLLEYVILLE, TX 76034.
