Malcom Maas, long time resident of Colleyville, Texas, passed peacefully in his sleep on July 16, 2016, (unlike his passengers). He was 80 years of age. Service: Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 10a.m at First United Methodist Church of Colleyville, 1000 Church St., Colleyville, Texas 76034. Interment will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 6pm to 8pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Malcom was born in New York, New York, June 7, 1936. He was a graduate of Alice High School, Alice, Texas and proudly served with honor in the US Army from 1954-1957. Malcom loved to drive and worked as a 10-wheel truck driver in the Los Angeles area, for a number of years. He then drove school buses for the Ventura School District in California until he met Myrna, and they were married in Thousand Oaks, California, on July 4, 1969. Moving to Dallas, Texas, he then started a career driving for Greyhound Bus Lines spanning 1970-1987. In 1974, the Maas’ moved to Colleyville. Finally, he worked for Hertz Rental Car. Malcom is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Adele Maas, and brothers, Albert, Pete, and Ronald Maas. Malcom is survived by his children, Diane Purvin of Dallas, Texas; Timothy Ellquist and wife, April, of Redding, California, Malcolm Maas of Iowa, Harry Maas and wife, Tammy, of Fort Worth, Texas and Katherine Smith, and husband, Kevin, of Colleyville, Texas; 11 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and extended family.
