Marilyn Ann Trader, of North Richland Hills, Texas passed away at home Saturday November, 17th 2018. Marilyn will always be remembered for her strength, passion, courage, determination, quick wit, kindness and love of the Lord.
She was born on January 26th 1939 in Longview, Texas to Merlin and Mary Beth Calloway. While her family moved around the Panhandle of Texas, Marilyn graduated from Tahoka High School in 1957 and went on to earn a Bachelors and Masters of Accounting degree from West Texas State in Canyon. Marilyn was married to Gene Trader for 47 years until his death. Marilyn spent most of her career teaching business courses at Palo Duro High School, with a short stint of teaching at Amarillo National Bank and Carver Learning Center. She cared very deeply for the success of her students and took her job very seriously, working countless hours grading papers and preparing lessons. Marilyn was an avid and accomplished snow skier, skiing into her late 70’s. She was also known for her green thumb and loved working in her yard and tending to all her flower pots. Marilyn was passionate about her kids, especially her grandchildren, and was known to go to extraordinary efforts to make it to every one of their sporting events, concerts or any activity in which they were involved – usually sporting team colors or fan shirt.
Marilyn is survived by her brother, Weldon Dean Calloway, of Hot Springs Arkansas, son Mike, and his wife Amy, of Southlake, Texas, daughter Kay, and her husband Dave, of Missouri City, Texas and six grandchildren, Chandler Hyatt and her husband Rou, Cole Trader, Cameron Trader, Addison Stacy, Emeree Stacy and Kendie Stacy.
The visitation will be Friday November 23, 2018 at Blue Bonnet Hills Colleyville and the funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday November 24th, 2018 at Legacy Church of Christ in North Richland Hills.
A visitation will also be held in Amarillo, Texas on Saturday, December 1st, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at San Jacinto Church of Christ fellowship hall.
