Marilyn “Marti” Waldrop, 84, the beloved beautiful colorful light of our family passed away on July 9, 2026. Marti’s greatest achievement was her large close-knit family and friends. She celebrated every birthday, holiday, block party or “just because” with as many people and decorations as she could gather.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bill Waldrop; her four children, Janet Dewey/Jim, Jena Mayer/Jeff, Audy Gilstrap/MaryBeth and Chad Waldrop/Wendy; nine grandchildren, Brittany, Jo, Trey, Meagan, Matt, Jeremy, Katrina, Kristin & Wrigley; ten great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Little-Davis; many cousins, nieces and nephews; as well as her beloved Shi-Tzu puppies, TJ and Tiffany.
In death, she is reunited with her parents, Malcolm and Stella, as well as her sisters, Carol Ann, Mini and Angie.
Marti loved meeting new people which led to her own successful business brokering company, AMC & Associates. She was a strong woman and a role-model who always excelled in everything she pursued. After retirement, she and Bill traveled throughout the country with the DFW motorcycle group and later with the Lone Star corvette group, forming friendships that became treasured extensions of their family.
Marti found great joy in working in her yard, continuously planting flowers, trees and shrubs to ensure year-round color. Her love of color was evident in every aspect of her life. She was always beautifully dressed head to toe in coordinated outfits complete with matching jewelry, shoes, purses and lipstick.
Marti’s vibrant spirit, unwavering love for family and friends, and gift for bringing people together will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026; Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, both at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at 11:15 a.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
