Maritta Mae Bush, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Baylor Medical Cancer Center in Dallas, Texas from a long fight with leukemia and lymphoma. She will always be celebrated as a loving wife, beloved mother, cherished aunt, good friend and special “Granny” to all that knew and loved her.
She was born on January 15, 1948 in Kankakee, Illinois to Frank and Loretta Sovinski. Maritta rose from being a teller at Carswell Federal Credit Union to Senior Vice President of the Texas Credit Union League and was a passionate spokesperson and educator in Financial Literacy for the JumpStart organization as one of their Regional Directors. After her retirement, she continued to contribute to the community as a substitute teacher at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Grapevine and serving in the General Ministries of Good Shephard Catholic Church in Colleyville.
She is survived by her husband Robert Bush of Colleyville, Texas, daughter Lori Mandable, son-in-law Terence Mandable and her two cherished granddaughters Catherine and Kirstina Mandable of Clifton, Virginia.
She was predeceased by Her parents Frank and Loretta Sovinski and her two sisters Jacqueline Bacon and Linda Parsons.
The wake will be held from 6-8pm on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville, Texas. The funeral mass will be held at 10am at Good Shepherd Catholic Community Church in Colleyville, Texas with reception to follow in the church parish center. Internment will follow, later in 2018, at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to Be The Match to further stem cell donations.

My Sweet Cuz and we had many Great times together: Running out of gas in the middle of the night with our family in the Black Hills, horseback riding in the Badlands, vacation in the Ozarks and oh so many fun times! I will miss you So much, but I know your suffering is over and you are at Peace.
