Marjorie Edith Hallmark Duke was born August 22, 1915, and died October 30, 2015, after celebrating her 100th birthday. She was born and raised in Belton , Tx, where she met her husband of 72 years, Willard Duke. After living briefly in Illinois and Mississippi, Marjorie and Willard moved to Wichita Falls where they resided the remaining years of their married life. There they attended 10th and Broad Church of Christ. Marjorie loved nature and all things beautiful. She and Willard traveled extensively in their retirement years and especially loved their favorite vacation spot -- Lake City , CO, where they spent summers over the next 20 years. Marjorie loved color and was seen most days of her life in pink or red. She was especially fond of her family. She loved the Lord her God with all her heart, mind and strength. And she was kind and gentle to everyone -- In February 2014, she lost her beloved husband and moved to Bedford, Tx, where she lived the remainder of her life. Marjorie was content in her circumstances living gratefully each day.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Hattie and Elmer Hallmark and her sister, Mildred Allen. Her remaining family are daughter, Carol Ballard, and granddaughter, Anne Ballard; son, Robert Duke and wife, Teri; grandson, Graham and wife, Lindsey; and 5 great granddaughters, Hadley, Gracie, Emmy, Abby and Ellie. Marjorie will be greatly missed.
