Marsha Ann Donaldson

Marsha Ann Donaldson, 87, of Colleyville, Texas, went home to Jesus on September 16, 2026.

She was born on October 9, 1938, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the eldest daughter of the late Raymond and Myrtle Maxent. Marsha spent her entire childhood in New Orleans, a city she always remembered with fondness.

She graduated from Redemptorist High School in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1956. On April 29, 1961, she married her beloved Roger John Donaldson, Jr., a graduate of Louisiana State University, who always signed his cards and letters to her as her "ever-loving tiger." Their marriage became a cherished example of love, devotion, and faith to their 6 children and their 16 grandchildren.

Marsha spent her life caring for all of those around her. She began her married life as an Air Force wife then, when Roger became a commercial pilot, became an American Airlines pilot wife. She was a stay-at-home mother and homemaker throughout this time, and selflessly poured her energy into providing a wonderful home for her family.

Marsha and Roger enjoyed travelling extensively as a couple, with her sisters, with American Airlines Grey Eagles, and with her children and their families. Some of her favorite destinations were South Carolina, Alaska, Europe, (especially Paris), and Hawaii. She and Roger found joy in surprising their children and their spouses with memorable trips to Hawaii, Alaska, and Greece. As always, she cherished her time with her family.

Marsha's Catholic faith was central to her life. No matter where they travelled, Marsha and Roger made attending Mass a first priority. Even in her declining years, when walking was extraordinarily difficult, she was dedicated to her faith and insisted on attending Mass.

Marsha was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Maxent; mother, Myrtle Maxent; sisters, Laura Maxent and Jean Heine; husband of nearly 61 years, Roger John Donaldson, Jr.; and eldest son, David Donaldson.

Marsha is survived by her sister, Rae Momberg; brother, Raymond Maxent; son, Richard and wife, Christine; son, Stephen and wife, Katie; daughter, Susan; son, Robert and wife, Emily; son, Patrick and wife, Begonia; her 16 precious grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.

A Rosary will be held on Saturday, October 3, at 10 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Community, with a Funeral Mass following at 11 AM. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Donations may be made in Marsha’s honor to The Callier Center for Communication Disorders at The University of Texas at Dallas, where she attended speech therapy for years, or to Catholic Charities.
