Meagan was born on May 1, 1994 on Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi to Mark Altman and Michelle Altman Biggs while living in Fort Polk, Louisiana. Meagan grew up in Louisiana, Kentucky, Arkansas, Idaho and various parts of Texas.
Meagan was an extraordinary young woman whose life was marked by determination, compassion, and a deep unwavering love for her family. She graduated from Vista Ridge High School in Cedar Park, TX two years early at the age of 16, already demonstrating the drive and focus that would carry her through Texas A&M University where she earned a BS in Animal Science in 2014 at the age of 19.
She worked as a Supply Chain Specialist at Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA) in Houston before returning to Texas A&M University to work on her MBA. There she met and touched an incredible group of friends, who remember her strength, warmth and unwavering loyalty. Megs inspired everyone lucky enough to know her to be better simply by the way she lived her life. There was never any doubt about who she was or what she valued. To be chosen as one of Meagan’s people was an honor not easily earned. When she was in, she was ALL in. She never did anything halfway - she poured herself fully into family and friends, and you always knew without question that you were one of hers. She loved deeply, stood loyally beside the people she cared for and made those around her feel truly known and valued. Being her friend meant having someone who would tell you the truth, celebrate your joys as if they were her own, and stand beside you through every season of life. Her quiet, unshakeable strength made those around her feel stronger and more grounded.
She graduated with her MBA from Texas A&M University Mays Business School in 2017. Following her graduation, Meagan worked as a Supply Chain Manager for AOT in Houston, Texas.
In March of 2018, Meagan was at a dog park with her hound dog Koda, when an Australian Shepherd named Dixie jumped out of the pond and dried herself on Meagan’s pant legs. Dixie’s person was Chris Koranek, also an Aggie business grad. At the dog park, they discovered that Meagan lived in Chris’ former apartment complex and that the two lived four blocks apart. That launched a series of evening dog walks and one thing led to another. When Meagan met Chris, it was clear to everyone who knew them that both had found their true partner.
In August of 2020, Chris accepted a job opportunity in Lafayette, LA and Meagan agreed to move with him without a ring, a sign of her faith and belief in the relationship. They became engaged and were married at St Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette on March 26, 2022, surrounded by loving, ecstatic family and friends.
They began their married lives as beacons of love and service to each other, using their gifts to complement each other and bring out each other's strengths as a true partnership. Together they built not only a loving relationship but a strong and joyful foundation for their family. Their bond was rooted in friendship, respect, and a shared vision of a life filled with love, laughter and purpose. They often hosted family holidays and parties and never let distance prevent them from attending a family event. They made the most of travel opportunities pre-kids and particularly enjoyed Argentina/Chile, Tahoe, Costa Rica, Utah, Maine and the UK.
On October 19, 2023, Meagan and Chris began their young family era as they welcomed their first child, Madeline Josephine, and their lights as parents began to shine. Son Thomas Eugene was added to the family in June 2025. Meagan poured her whole heart into her family and nowhere was that more evident than in her role as mother, crafting dream days out of ordinary activities with her creativity and thoughtfulness. She knew how to make every birthday and holiday special with her extraordinary cooking, baking and thoughtful planning. No task was beneath her and there was nothing she wasn't willing to learn or try. Her dogged determination was legendary; there wasn’t much way to change her mind once it was decided.
Meagan is very fondly remembered by many for her fierce determination, servant’s heart, unfailing loyalty and sacrificial motherly love. She is survived by her husband Christopher, son Thomas, parents Jay and Michelle Biggs, Dawn Altman, and Mark and Julie Altman, brother Mark (Jacqueline) Altman II, twin brother Matthew (Michelle) Altman, sister Bailey (Cody) Kroeker, brother Jeff (Lauren) Biggs, and sister Sarah Biggs. Meagan is also survived by five nieces and three nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Michael & Gloria Garner and Bill & Claudia Altman.
