With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Melvin H. Roberts, on December 31, 2025. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, friend, and colleague to all who knew and loved him.
Melvin was born on September 3, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Chester H. Roberts and Frances O. Roberts. He graduated from Garden Grove High School in Garden Grove, California, and soon after proudly served in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic. He later earned an associate degree in Auto Mechanics from Tarrant County College.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Mel built a long and fulfilling career and ultimately retired from Lockheed Martin. He was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite, organizations that reflected his commitment to service, integrity, and community.
Mel was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandra E. Roberts—whom he married on January 7, 1966—and by his parents, Chester and Frances Roberts. We find comfort in knowing he was welcomed with open arms as he crossed into eternity.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother Thomas, his wife Elizabeth, and their son Daryl, all of Garden Grove, California; his two daughters, Lesley and Donna, and Donna’s husband Don; his seven cherished grandchildren—Lauren, Brooke and her husband Colin, Braden, Colby, Faith, Nick, and Tara; and his two great grandchildren, Addilyn and Connor. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues. We will all remember his warmth, his kindness, his easy smile, and the long, unforgettable conversations they shared.
During this time of deep sorrow, we are uplifted by the love and support of those who have reached out with their condolences. We are grateful for everyone who gathers with us, reminding us that we do not walk this path of grief alone. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of those who went before him, until we meet again.
Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 with a funeral service at 1:30 pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, Texas, 76034. Interment will be at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
