Michael Dan Bodine Sr.

Michael Dan “Mike” Bodine, Sr., age 89, passed away on September 14, 2026.

Mike was born on September 5, 1937, in Goldsboro, Texas, to William Pinkney and Edith Mary (Brown) Bodine. He was raised in Texarkana, Texas, where he attended Liberty-Eylau High School. A member of the school’s first graduating class in 1956, Mike also held the distinction of being the very first graduate of Liberty-Eylau High School. A talented athlete, one of his favorite teenage memories was tying for district in basketball.

In 1957, Mike married Louise Oakley Bodine, with whom he shared a life and raised their two children. He built a long and dedicated career as a station agent with Continental Airlines, where he worked for more than 38 years. Mike also proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army Reserves.

Throughout his life, Mike had a love for both music and sports. He enjoyed recording his own songs and was an avid Elvis Presley fan. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, and softball, and later enjoyed watching sports and refereeing. He could also often be found enjoying a game of dominoes or pool.

Above all, Mike will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to make others laugh. He was a funny guy who brought joy to those around him, and anyone who knew him knew just how much he loved Elvis.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edith Bodine; his brothers, Donald Earl Bodine and Derald Dwayne Bodine; his son-in-law, Robert Dee McIntire; and his beloved wife, Louise Oakley Bodine.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son and daughter-in-law, Michael Dan Bodine, Jr. and Ranesa Bodine; his daughter, Michele Lee (Bodine) McIntire; his three grandsons, Greyland Michael McIntire, Tanner Dane McIntire, and Jaxon Kade McIntire; his sisters, Lois Elaine Bodine Duval and Mary Willene Bodine; as well as numerous other family members.

Mike leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, music, and love that will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him.

A time to honor Michael will be held from 5-8pm on Thursday, September 17, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034. Michael will be reunited with Louise during a private committal service in Arkansas.
